Service providers want to turn their networks into a platform for revenue generating innovative service delivery with significantly lower capex and opex and without vendor lock-in. Yes they want production quality open source platforms and production ready customized open source solutions based on white boxes. That is great. However in this new model, who makes what investments and who can have a sustainable business model. Without this clarity we have a significant risk that the current business models will continue and realizing the full potential of disaggregation and open source will be difficult or impossible.  The purpose of this panel is to try to get this clarity so the community can make investments with some idea how they can get the return on their investments and what type of business models are likely to work.
